Turnbull Building Co. is a residential general contracting company that specializes in custom home construction. Opening business in 2022, we have successfully completed more than 2 dozen projects. We generally take on projects within a 30-minute radius of Burns, TN.
What sets us apart from other builders is our design-build process. When you hire Turnbull Building Co, you hire a partner for the duration of your project. That means from the start, we are working to customize your project to meet all of your needs and constraints. This starts in the planning phase when we will do an onsite visit to assess your build site. We then go into our design phase where we carefully design a home plan that is curated for your personal function. Once the design is complete, we then make the vision come to life throughout the building process. Once the project is complete, you will be move-in ready in your dream home!

We build your dream home on your property. Everything is fully custom to suit your wants and needs from house plans, finishes, and functions of your home. All of this is accomplished with your budget in mind in order to deliver a quality product.
Plan Design
At times, it can feel impossible to find a plan that suits exactly what you’re looking for. This is why we do full designs in-house. We design homes from a builders perspective which often results in a more efficient building process. This allows our clients to have a final product that fits their needs, budget constraints, and lot restrictions.
Additions & Renovations
Not every project is a full home build. We often take on other projects such as remodels, additions, carports, detached garages and more.

If any builder can give you a sqft price without seeing your plan, land, or finishes, they are probably not being truthful. All of these factors play a big role on what your actual cost/sqft will be and without them, its not possible to give a reliable budget.

A typical build takes about 6 months for us once construction begins. However, many factors could effect this such as weather, financing, material delays, etc.

Yes we do. It’s a common misconception that you have to go through a “barndominium company” in order to build one. Building a bardo with us will give you more flexibility and design choices than with a traditional “barndominium company.”

The very first step is always finding land to build on. We are happy to assist in this process.

There are many factors that make a property build-able. Some include, road frontage, property access, utility access, slope of land, clearing of land, etc. The right property also needs to check off personal preferences as well.

In short, yes some changes can be made during construction. Many of those changes can come with a change order. Some changes to the structure of the house might prove to be more costly than the change is worth.
